Vol.1 of the sampler beats brings interesting layers and mid-tempo beats, all from cassette tape stereo mixes with digital mastering.

These date from the period between 2003 - 2006 when steve knots was still in the pre-laptop world, where 19-inch rack gear and 2Gb hard drives grazed next to the mighty brontosaurus and the rubik's cube.

On this album you will hear the samplers MPC2000 and Emu E6400, both of which are amazing beasts that still outperform new laptops.

Favorite track on this album: "Pea Soup"

The voices you hear came from cb radio interference sampled through unbalanced DJ mixer cables. The guys are saying, "yea, yea, you know, we got it under control..." etc.

Also on this track you can hear flamenco guitar samples from an old old vinyl record, and clicking noises recorded from a ratchet wrench.
